What are the benefits of massage therapy?

Can I receive a massage if I have a medical condition? â€‹

​

You absolutely can, it's just imperative that you get medical clearance from your physician prior to scheduling any services.  This is especially important when it comes to certain injuries, surgeries, and cancer treatment. Please make us aware of any serious medical conditions prior to scheduling a massage session.

I've never had a massage. What should I expect at my first appointment?

​

First of all, thank you for trusting us with your first massage experience, we're so glad to have you! For your first massage appointment, you can expect to be directed to fill out a new client "Intake" form where we'll be able to learn more info about you, including some medical history, allergies, info as to what's going on in your body, your day to day life, etc. This info allows your therapist to customize the best possible session for you in a safe manner. The session plan will be communicated to you thoroughly, and you will be walked through whatever is needed. Here are some tips for having a successful first massage experience:

  • Give yourself plenty of time to arrive on time and to find the office

  • Shower prior to your session

  • Ladies- don't worry about shaving your legs. We promise we don't care about your stubble!

  • Communicate thoroughly with your therapist before & during the session. Don't be shy! Your comfort is our #1 priority, so please speak up if you need the pressure adjusted, feel uncomfortable, need another blanket, ect.

  • RELAX. You don't need to help us with anything unless we ask! That includes assisting us in moving your body, draping, ect.

  • Come as you are. This is a safe and healing space for everybody.

Do I need to undress? How am I draped for the session?

​

Ideally, you will be partially dressed depending on which areas of tension we are focusing on during your treatment. Your massage session can be adjusted if you prefer to remain fully clothed throughout the session. Please make your therapist aware of this beforehand to allow them time to adjust the session plan. You will be given privacy while you disrobe to your comfort level, get onto the table, and cover yourself with the sheets provided. You are appropriately covered at all times during the session, the body part that is being worked on will be undraped. Genitals & women's breasts are covered at all times. This is NOT a sensual massage. Any inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated, and your session will be ended without refund.

Do you have a cancellation fee?

​

Yes. If a session is canceled with less than a 24-hour notice, you will be charged a $40 fee. For last minute cancellations or if you do not show up to your appointment, you will be charged half of your service cost. Although we hate to do so, our time is valuable, and not giving us more than 24hr notice makes it difficult for us to fill the spot that you canceled. We understand that emergencies do happen, please contact us and keep us in the loop.

Do you accept health insurance? 

​

No, we do not currently accept health insurance of any kind. With that being said, we are more than happy to provide you with a receipt for your service that you can submit for possible reimbursement if your insurance allows it.
